The Inspiration for XL Dog Shop Inc
This is Mocha, he’s a big boy who loves his people! While Great Danes are known as gentle giants, Mocha didn’t get the memo that he was supposed to be sweet and gentle to everyone. Mocha was sick for a couple of months when he came home and missed many experiences in his critical socialization period. He has come so far over the last 3 years and worked through most of his fears. Unfortunately, he is still reactive to other dogs and so having quality gear in the right size is super important in being able to manage him. XL Dog Shop was created so others with giant breed dogs could have a place to come to find quality gear, at an affordable price, big enough to fit right.
This is Us…
When I brought Mocha, my Great Dane, home, I knew he would grow into the giant he is today—150 pounds. What I didn’t expect though, was how hard it would be to find the right accessories for him. Shopping for collars, leashes, and toys became a frustrating challenge; everything seemed too small, too flimsy, or just not made with big dogs in mind. Another surprise was how reactive he was, which made it even more challenging as I needed to make sure his gear was strong enough to manage him.
I realized I couldn’t be the only one struggling to find high-quality, durable gear for large dogs. That’s when the idea for my online store was born—a place where pet owners like me could find accessories designed specifically for big, strong pups like Mocha.
Starting this store has been a labor of love, inspired by Mocha and all the big dogs out there who deserve the best. I hope you and your furry friend find something perfect here.
